Alice Yerman - 2025

A lifelong volunteer with a heart for service, Alice Yerman has quietly and faithfully enriched the Lancaster community for more than two decades. Born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island, Alice earned a B.A. in English from Adelphi College and married her late husband, Andy, an engineer, during her final semester. Together, they raised four children—Bruce, Pam, Rachel, and Adam—and she is the proud grandparent of twelve.

Randi Jacobson - 2024

A native of Massapequa, N.Y., Randi graduated from SUNY Binghamton with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and from Cornell University with a Master’s Degree in Industrial and Labor Relations. She began her professional career as an Employee Relations Supervisor for Alcoa in Lancaster in 1981. She met her husband, Bill, in 1983 and together, built a life that includes two children and a successful optometric practice. She and Bill are happily retired, having sold Jacobson Eyecare in 2022. She is the proud mother of Dan, a filmmaker, and Jessie, an event planner, as well as the dog-mom to Muffin, Jake and Charlie.

Steve Kleinman - 2023

Steven J. Kleinman was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and grew up in New Milford, N.J. During his working years, Steve was employed by various companies in Connecticut, New York, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania. He moved to Pennsylvania in 1987. After retiring in 2016, he has spent much of his time as a volunteer for various Lancaster organizations, including Temple Beth El, the Jewish Community Alliance of Lancaster (JCAL), CareerLink (helping people with technology who were looking for jobs), and VITA (doing tax returns for low to moderate income people at no charge). Most recently, he has been volunteering as the Treasurer for three Lancaster 501 (c) (3) organizations, including Jewish Family Service of Lancaster.

Raised in New York City, Carol has always been passionate about children, theatre and all the performing arts. A graduate of Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting and directing, she has performed in and directed shows ranging from Shakespeare to Purimshpiel to children’s theatre.

Lisa Rohde - 2021

Lisa has devoted her life to teaching and working with children who have varying abilities and disabilities. After getting her BS in Special Education from Millersville University, she taught for 30 years with Lancaster Lebanon IU13. The students with whom she worked needed multiple supports-children with active minds and bodies that did not cooperate. Lisa worked with children needing life skill support. She described them as bosses while being taught how to read, write, improve social and life skills! Lisa also worked in Early Intervention, providing services and support for 3-5 year olds at home and community preschools. Here, she helped parents solve problems which impacted family life and had the opportunity to create community support for those in preschool.
