Jean was also an active member at Temple Beth El and in its Sisterhood, serving on many committees including the search committees for three rabbis. In addition, Jean volunteered in the general community by serving on the Youth Activities Committee of the West Hempfield Police Department. Her knowledge, experience, and skills were used to assist at-risk youth, giving them the opportunity to avoid entering the legal system. -
